ANDREA MANTOVANI DOUBLE TOP FIVE AT LE MANS
The second round of the MotoE world championship took place on the weekend of 10/11 May on the historic and famous LeMans circuit packed with people (estimated attendan-ce was 350,000), an absolutely positive weekend for Andrea who in both heats always fought for the top positions. In race 1, where Manto with a series of overtakings caught up with his rivals, fighting for the podium until the last lap, marking the best lap of the French weekend. After an exciting tussle he passed the finish line in fifth place, competing a race in a very fast but intelligent way allowing him to bring home important points for the champion-ship. In race 2 in the afternoon Andrea had a small problem in turn 2 on the first lap, caused by the position of the suit’s slider being too external, instead of touching the ground with the slider which scraped directly against the skin, losing the footpegs and some positions up to 13th. From there a furious comeback began with overtaking and fast laps with extraor-dinary times until he climbed back up to fifth position. Manto and Team Forward were very satisfied with a weekend on French soil with a cre-scendo of performances. After the Le Mans stage, Andrea is seventh with 38 points in the world ranking, equal on points with the sixth place finisher. Next appointment with the MotoE in Barcelona on 24/25 May where, as always, Andrea he will give his best.
