MUGELLO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MotoE 01 JUNE

ANDREA MANTOVANI 5th AND 6th IN THE HOME RACE AT MUGELLO!

The first Italian stage of the MotoE world championship took place on Saturday 1 June on the legendary Mugello circuit.

160,000 people invaded the Florentine circuit and with their warmth they created a unique atmosphere.

Manto, riding the electric Ducati of Team Klint Forward, entered Q1 after free practice in the morning. Only 10 minutes to find the fastest lap, the first two classified go to Q2. On the first flying lap Manto achieved the first time, at the beginning of the second lap a sudden rain hit the circuit causing Andrea to fall and suffer a severe bruise to his right elbow. Fortunately nothing was broken at the Medical Center check, but this precluded the Klint Forward Racing Team centaur from taking part in Q2.
All this did not discourage Andrea and his team who refurbished the Ducati V21L ready for Satur-day’s races. Starting from the tenth place in Race 1 he immediately began a comeback up to 6th position, but on the 3rd lap the race was interrupted due to a red flag due to a rider’s fall at the Bucine curve. Race 1 was recovered in the late afternoon on Saturday, where Andrea took the checkered flag 6th overall In race 2 Manto immediately started strong and after several overtakings he completed the seven laps scheduled in the TOP FIVE.

Andrea Mantovani is satisfied with the two races held, where despite his sore elbow from the crash the day before, he made a comeback in both heats with lap times equal to the leading riders.
We need to be faster in free practice to get straight into Q2 and start further up the grid. The next appointment will be in Assen on 28 and 29 June, in the meantime Manto will still be at Mugello on 22/23 June riding the Ducati “Panigalina” of the Mesaroli Racing Team in the CIV SuperSport 600NG race.

Thank you Mugello, Thank you Italy for the warmth and cheering you have shown over these days.
