SACHSENRING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MotoE 06 JULY

POSITIVE WEEKEND AT SACHSERING FOR ANDREA MANTOVANI

The 6th Round of the MotoE World Championship took place at the Sachsering circuit in Germany, where Andrea, riding the electric Ducati of Team Klint Forward Garage, looked for new setup solutions to find the right feeling.
The first free practice session on Friday morning took place on a partially wet track, so we had to wait for the second free practice session to have the necessary conditions to try something new. The very little time available “7-8 laps of the track” in these cases does not help those like Andrea who have to find an adequate setting, therefore in qualifying on Friday afternoon the centaur n. 9 had to settle for 14th place on the grid.

On Saturday, race 1 was interrupted on the first lap by a red flag, so at the restart the 11 laps available were reduced to 5 and Andrea recovered to cross the finish line in 11th place.

Race 2, however, saw a large storm hit the German track just when all the riders were lined up on the grid. The Race Direction delayed the start of Race 2 by an hour and a half while waiting for the rain to stop. Andrea was very good under the water, recovering up to eighth position in the eight laps of the race available!

ANDREA MANTOVANI:
It was a difficult weekend because the weather conditions from the start did not allow us to try the different solutions in the dry. Despite this, I see the glass half full as in race 2 the wet condi-tions allowed me to do better than I could have done in the dry.
We absolutely have to find the right solution because I know that my potential can lead me to fight for victory. The lap limit for each session with the MotoE does not help in this situation, but we absolutely must not give up.
Next August 3rd and 4th I will be in Misano for the Racing Night in the CIV Supersport, where I can’t wait to get on my Ducati Panigale V2 959!
I thank the Team and all the sponsors who support me. I look forward to seeing you in Misano for the Racing Night on August 3rd!
