BARCELONA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MotoE 24-25 MAY

POSITIVE WEEKEND AT THE CATALAN GP FOR ANDREA MANTOVANI

The third MotoE test took place last weekend on the Catalan circuit of Montmelò, with our Andrea Mantovani riding the electric Ducati of Team Forward.

The change in the compounds of the Michelin tire supplier compared to last year has shuffled the cards quite a bit, so much so that both in MotoE and in MotoGP there was no shortage of twists. Above all, the front tire in contact with an asphalt with little grip like that of Montmelò left many riders stranded, especially those fighting for the top of the standings.

So Andrea, starting from P13 in race 1, encountered a crash without consequences at turn 9 (when he had eighth place), which still allowed him to start again and reach the finish line 15th.

In Race 2 the centaur from Emilia-Romagna once again made a wonderful comeback up to 6th position, fighting in the group for 4th place, setting the third best time in the races and the best time of the weekend.
The race management relegated him one position: 7th for having turned green on the last lap.

A weekend that is certainly growing, which even if it does not reflect last year’s perfor-mances, if compared to the double zeros made by other drivers at the top of the electric world rankings, once again demonstrates that Andrea is consistent and aware of his own abilities and capable of fight in the key moments.

ANDREA MANTOVANI:
Still a positive result, despite the fact that the Michelin front tire put many riders to the test, including myself. I’m happy because I achieved my best time in race 2, recovering many positions from the start. They are 7th in the championship on equal points with 6th and there are still 5 rounds to go in the championship. Therefore anything can happen, like this weekend where the ranking was overturned in just one weekend. We need to stay focused and continue like this, next week there will be Mugello, my favorite track where as always I will give my best!

A special thanks goes to Ramon Forcada my crew chief, to Team Forward, to all the spon-sors and to those who follow me!

See you at Mugello!!
